Inspiring Performance: A UK Success Story

At the Global LIFO^® Conference in Kyoto, Japan, Bridget Biggar, UK LIFO Agent, presented a consulting project demonstrating how the LIFO Method can play a critical role in transforming organizational culture. The client, BW Interiors, is a very profitable private company with two hard-driving Directors who felt the company was at a crossroads:

• Entreprenural, not corporate
• Reactive, not vision-driven
• Sink-or swim, with no time for personal development and little employee empowerment.

The Directors hired LIFO Licensee Steve Jarerett as a HR consultant to help them create a sustainable, vision-driven culture. He implemented the process summarized above that included LIFO Training as a central element in the firm's "people processes."

The Directors drove the change by participating in:

• 360° review and LIFO Feedback
• Coaching and mentoring by a LIFO licensee
• Producing Personal Development Plans for themselves and sharing them with their staff
• Receiving ongoing coaching to develop flexibility of all LIFO behaviors.

As a result of the project:

• Directors and managers show and empower rather than tell and understand better what motivates each employee.
• Productivity and profit have increased.
• Free time has increased, with greater lateral thinking and innovation.
