The Human Element Community Reunites at the Update in San Francisco

Two weeks ago, Business Consultants Network hosted the 2006 Human Element International Update in its San Francisco offices. In the spirit of the event's theme, "Taking the Work Beyond Our Community," partners and licensees from five continents came together for four days to share business practices and research. We also discussed new strategies on both strengthening the work and reaching new markets for the tools and programs powered by The Human Element.

Equally important, participants (some of whom have been attending the Update since the 1980s) took the time to relax with old friends – and connect with new ones. Eight graduates of our Trainer Certification programs held last June and October joined the Update as part of their continuing education in learning to integrate The Human Element within their consulting and training practices.

The Update, started by The Human Element creator Will Schutz, has been taking place for the past 26 years, almost always in Northern California. Its humble goal – gathering certified practitioners to have a good time – has steadily grown into an event that gives attendees the chance to go deeper into the work and share new ways to apply The Human Element both personally and professionally.

In keeping with Business Consultants Network's vision to power the innerside of business by creating resilient relationships, we plan to share our learnings from the Update here, on Connect, in the coming weeks with articles and excerpts of presentations from leading practitioners including Thomy Barton, Judith Bell, Hiroko Ito, Dick Thompson, Pat Young, and many more. We hope that you’ll find them as helpful and insightful as we did.
