Bridge the Communication Gap Using LIFO® Interpersonal Skills

In this module, participants learn how to recognize other people’s communication preferences and translate their messages to match. They acquire skills to:

  • Reduce resistance and increase acceptance by using communication strategies tailored to the needs of their audience.
  • Create a non-defensive, open atmosphere in which information flows more freely, leading to more effective planning and decision making.
  • Resolve differences in values, priorities, and interpretations of information for identifying mutually satisfying solutions.

As a result, participants get through to others more easily, obtain agreement with less effort, and get things moving quickly.

Radical Collaboration workshops shifts people's attitudes towards relationships from a defensive, adversarial "Red Zone" attitude to a more effective and collaborative "Green Zone" attitude. Maintaining a Green Zone attitude is the single most important thing leaders and team members can do to increase their effectiveness when working to turn conflict into collaboration.

To develop a Green Zone attitude, participants:

  • Create a personal "early warning system" and "defensiveness action plan" to increase their effectiveness in stressful situations.
  • Learn tools and techniques for expressing their thoughts and feelings openly and honestly without creating resistance or stimulating conflict.
  • Develop skills for listening to others so they feel heard and understood.
  • Become more aware of the choices they make and accept greater accountability for the consequences of those choices.

The past is impossible to change, but it doesn't have to determine our future. Radical Collaboration presents eight tools for breaking free of old, ineffective communication patterns and creating more effective relationships.

A big part of success in relationships is knowing how to resolve conflict. Radical Collaboration offers ten strategies for encouraging collaboration and teaches participants a step-by-step method of negotiating their way through conflict. Click here to Connect to the Radical Collaboration website
